After graduation from high school, Jake attended the University of Texas until WWII began. He served in the United States Army Air Force from 1943 until 1947 and spent much of that time in Europe.
Jake married Nancy Beth Gilbreath on January 21st 1951. They later moved to Lake Jackson, TX where they spent more than fifty-seven years. Jake and Nancy had two daughters, Tina & Leigh. Jake’s career led him to work Dow Chemical & Monsanto before retiring to run his own businesses of Area Print Shop and Brazos Mobile Home Park.
Jake loved hunting, fishing, and was a member of Greenwood Gun Club, and he enjoyed loading his own shells.
Jake is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Nancy Beth Gilbreath.
Jake is survived by his daughters, Tina Gerberman (husband Ben), and Leigh Burmeister; grandchildren Eric Gerberman (wife Shanna), Clint Gerberman (fiancée Misty), Tara Burmeister, and Michelle Dyer (husband Brent); and great grandchildren Emma Gerberman, Sven Gerberman, and Tristan Dixon.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 26th 2015 at First Christian Church of Lake Jackson (503 Oyster Creek Dr, Lake Jackson, TX 77566). Visitation will begin at 11am with the Funeral beginning at 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Lake Jackson.
