Gabriel Rodriguez

Gabriel Rodriguez, 63 of Lake Jackson, was called into the arms of the Lord on April 17, 2016 at Revered Texan Hearth and Home in Lake Jackson. Gabe was born on December 13, 1952 to Tomas Rodriguez, and Eloisa Morales Olivarez in Port Lavaca, Texas. Gabe married Viola Rodriguez in Falfurrias, Texas on May 25, 1974.

Gabe graduated from Falfurrias High school in 1972, and then from Del Mar College in 1973. He was an employee of LyondellBasell (Matagorda Plant) since March 14, 1983 and was the Emergency Response Team Captian. In his spare time, Gabe enjoyed fishing, barbequing, and travelling.

Gabe is preceded in death by his son Gabriel Rodriguez Jr.; parents Tomas Rodriguez, Eloisa Morales Olivarez, and step-father Ambrosio Olivarez; nephew Ricardo Rodriguez; and his grandparents (maternal and paternal).

Gabe is survived by his loving and devoted daughter Danyel (Jason) Robles; wife of 39 years Viola Rodriguez; brothers Cayetano (Adriana) Rodriguez, Teodoro (Alma) Olivarez, Alvar Olivarez, Ambrosio Olivarez, Armando (Rosie) Olivarez; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cayetano Rodriguez, Teodoro H. Olivarez, Alvar Olivarez, Ambrosio Olivarez, Armando Olivarez, Homero T. Olivarez.

Services will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Clute, Texas on Wednesday 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. presided by Father James Lynes, with Entombment to follow at Restwood Memorial Park.

The family requests donations go to American Cancer Society.
