Fredrick Allen Martinez

He was born February 1, 1984, in Galveston, Texas, and was a resident of Freeport, Texas, most of his life.

Fredrick is preceded in death by his father, Frederico (Fred) Martinez; and grandparents, Julia and Pete Martinez.

He is survived by his mother, Carmen Poulson Friday; sisters, Laura Martinez and Julie Martinez; girlfriend, Danielle Rivas; nephews, Jalen Ferguson and Michael Davis III; nieces, Oliva Robinson and Maliyah Davis; grandparents, Phillip Poulson Sr. and Hortencia Betancourt; uncles, Mark Martinez, Pete Martinez, Rene Martinez, Phillip Poulson Jr., Armando (Meagan) Ruiz; and aunts, Regina Martinez, Lisa Haggard, Anita Poulson, Georgia (Brad) Taylor, Tracy Ortiz, Josie Juarez, and Angelina Juarez; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Fredrick had an amazing kool-aid smile, awesome personality and a sweet spirit. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He took care of everyone and was an amazing provider. He was a very unique young man, truly one of a kind. He enjoyed fishing; he was adventurous and loved to travel and enjoyed going to the casino. He loved hanging out with his buddies who he called “his girls.”

His girlfriend, Danielle, brought Fred a tremendous amount of happiness. We are forever grateful. He adored his mom, sisters and nieces and nephews. We know Fred is looking down at all of us mourning and heart-broken, but he would tell us all “Come on, pull it together.”

The family will receive friends during visitation at Family Life Church, 220 Lake Rd, Lake Jackson from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Family Life Church with Pastor Craig Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Park

Serving as pallbearers are Armando Ruiz, Gilbert Velez, Robert Vasquez, Zachary Taylor, Gerardo (Yayo) Velez, Todd Johanningmeier, Thomas (P-Wee) Robinson and David Tyner.

Honorary pallbearers are Jalen Ferguson, Jarrod Knight, Shinton Cross, Pete Martinez, Jose (Polo) Reyes, Manuel Lara, Glenn Evans Jr., Tommy Ferguson Jr., and Lupe (Smurf) Velez.
