Fred E. Riddle Jr.

Fred E. Riddle, Jr., 64, of Lake Jackson, passed away February 10, 2014 in a Houston Hospital after a brief illness. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 14, at Restwood Funeral Home, Clute, Tx. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 15, Fred’s birthday, at Restwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benny Morgan, Jeff O'Brien, Joe Rybak, Bryan Wheat, Edward "Bubba" Ammons, Richard "Ricky" Ammons.

Fred was born February 15, 1949 to father, Fred E. Riddle, Sr. and mother, Jimmie Sue Riddle in Houston, Texas. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by numerous family members and friends.

Fred is preceded in death by his father Fred E. Riddle, Sr.; and great friend J.W. Maltby.

Fred was a salesman by trade and never met a stranger. He worked for Motorola selling car mobile phones before cell phones were popular. He also worked many years in outside sales for Marine and Petroleum in Freeport, Tx. Fred retired his sales position with Hydrocut, a Division of Brazosport Plastics, Angleton, Tx. in 2012 but continued to work one day a week doing their collections.

Fred was an avid golfer and won the 1980 Houston Amateur Golf Tournament held at Memorial Park in Houston, Tx, just one week after he met his then soon to be wife, Pam. Fred always said she was his good luck charm. He was very proud of his 3 holes in one that he earned over a 25 year span.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years Pamela King Riddle; son Troy and wife Patricia Shiflet Fernandez; grandson Drake Fernandez, grandson Max Fernandez and 3 week old granddaughter Hayden Fernandez, all of Lake Jackson, Tx. He is also survived by his mother Jimmie Riddle; sister Stephanie Wheat; nephew Bryan Wheat; great-nephew Brody Wheat, all of Houston, Tx. plus one uncle and numerous cousins and extended family.

Fred was very fond of his two four legged friends, Chichi and Coco and request that donations, should you choose, be made to the SBCA of Southern Brazoria County, 141 C anon Drive, Lake Jackson, Tx 77566.
