Elizabeth Jean Macy

October 20, 1972 – March 26, 2025

On March 26, 2025, Elizabeth “Liz” Jean Macy passed peacefully, but unexpectedly in her sleep, in her hometown of Angleton, Texas. Elizabeth was 52 years old. Elizabeth was born October 20, 1972, in Freeport, Texas, to James and Betty Middleton. She graduated Angleton High School and then graduated college from the University of Houston.

She met her husband David and they married August 22, 1998. They have been married for 26 years. Early in her career she worked at the Juvenile Detention Center in Angleton, and then as a juvenile probation officer for Brazoria County. She then moved to teaching Special Education, first for the Boot Camp in Angleton, and then for Brazosport ISD.

Outside of work she enjoyed making cards, scrapbooking, and spending time with family and friends. She loved to cuddle with her dachshund Bella. She also enjoyed going to church at Brazos Point Fellowship.

She is preceded in death by her father, James R. Middleton; and uncles, Charles and Walter Lastor. She is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Kathryn; her mother, Betty; and her brother, James.

A Memorial service for Elizabeth will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 1:00 PM at Restwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1038 W. Plantation Dr., Clute, Texas 77531.
