Edgar Lee Tarrant passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Lake Livingston, Texas. He was born August 22, 1940 in Bowie, Texas to Floyd and Inez Owen Tarrant, long time Jones Creek residents. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clyde. He is a 5th generation Texan. Edgar lived in Pearland and is survived by his wife, Becky; stepsons and daughters-in-law Edwin & Farideh Buck, Jared & Karen Buck; granddaughters, Jennifer Buck, Frida Buck and Lauren Buck. He is also survived by a brother, James Tarrant; nephews, Kevin Tarrant, Kendall Tarrant, Glenn Tarrant, David Tarrant, Lee Tarrant and Clifton Tarrant; great nieces, Sheila Tarrant, Margo Tarrant, Hanna Tarrant, Sarah Tarrant, Marlee Tarrant, Amber Tarrant; great nephews, Zack Tarrant and Clifton Tarrant II. Edgar graduated from Brazosport High School in 1958 and from Texas A&M University in 1963 with a degree in Accounting; he later became a Certified Public Accountant. He retired from UTMB in 2002 and him and friend Glenn Bulgherini formed a public accounting firm and conducted audits for the State of Texas. He was a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, Houston Chapter of CPA’s, Texas A&M Association of Former Students and is an inactive member of the Jones Creek Baptist Church and the Brazosport Daylily Society. Pallbearers will be his nephews and Glenn Bulgherini will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Jones Creek Baptist Church with Kathy Ozenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, Texas. Family has requested that memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Tarrant be made to the Texas A&M University, Association of Former Students, 505 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840-2918 (www.aggienetwork.com).
