Diana Kay Gomez

Diana Kay Gomez, age 61 went to be with the lord on June 10, 2013 with her family and friends by her side after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Freeport on September 24, 1951 to parents Abelardo Alonzo Gomez and Consuelo (Connie) Mendiola. She graduated from Waco College with a degree in accounting. She loved dancing and was gifted in writing stories and poems, and she was also known for her witty personality. Diana had a love for life and a strong will to never die but live forever with Jesus and never said no to those in need and always prayed for everyone’s salvation. She was preceded in death by her parents; Abelardo Alonzo Gomez Sr. and Consuelo (Connie) Mendiola, Daughter; Angela Ramirez and son; Christopher Solis. She is survived by her siblings Rosalinda Salinas and husband Edward, Abelardo Alonzo Gomez Jr. (Sonny), Rita Hanska, Sylvia Rangel and husband Phillip, Ronnie Gomez and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She leaves behind two children, son; Paul Derrick Ramirez and wife Jessica, daughter; Bellamie JoAnn Aluizo and husband Paul, nine grandchildren ; Derrick Ramirez, Jazmine Garcia, Joshua DeLa Garza, Ariana Ramirez, Taylor Ramirez, Adrian Aluizo, Isaiah Aluizo, Christian Ramirez, and Nicholas Ramirez. Five great-grandchildren; Sabastian, Jeremiah, Ambriella, Joel Jr., and Natalie. The family wishes to send a special thanks to the Lake Jackson Hospice Care Team.
