David Garcia Moreno

He attended Brazosport and Brazoswood high schools where he participated in track, basketball, baseball and football. David loved to watch all sports and if you didn’t know a statistic you just had to ask him. The Pittsburgh Steelers were HIS team. Collecting all kinds of music was one of his passions and he could sing along with every song. While traveling, he loved to play “name that band” and he always won.

David was an avid pool player, playing on league teams at Shooters and competing in local tournaments. Throughout the years, he took several teams to Las Vegas to compete in the BCA National Pool tournament. He also competed in scotch doubles and single competition there.

David’s grandchildren were the loves of his life. As he was a big kid at heart playing with and watching them grow gave him such joy. David loved to host BBQ’s, crawfish boils, entertain his friends and shop garage sales. He loved the holidays, Halloween and Christmas being his favorites. He loved dressing up like Santa and surprising his friends and family by knocking on their doors Christmas Eve.

David is preceded in death by his mother, Lupe Moreno, and his father, Manuel Moreno.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Terrie Hudzietz, bonus daughters Torey McCord (Johnnie) and Nikki Hudzietz (Sam). Brothers Nabor Moreno and Steven Moreno, sisters Josie Ramirez (Oscar) and Ester Trevino (Frankie), grandchildren Tatym and Raegan Hudzietz, Lilley and Molley McCord and Damian Britton. Nephews Oscar Lee and Albert Lee Ramirez, Joshua, Jeremy and Jordan Trevino, nieces Isabella and Mya Moreno and great nephews Max Ramirez and Finn Trevino and great niece Charlie Ramirez.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Joshua Trevino, Jeremy Trevino, Jordan Trevino, Tony DeAmicis, Philip Penney, Danny Garcia, Albert Ramirez, Oscar Lee Ramirez, and George Brigham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy May, Alan Myers, Shelby Green, Coby Rabourn, Charlie Wilhite, Kenny Oakley, Ricky Hughes, and Randy King.

Visitation will be held at Restwood Funeral home Tuesday May 16, 2017 at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary being held from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be held at Restwood Funeral home Wednesday May 17th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at graveside.
