Dana was born in Torrance, California on August 30, 1957 and was raised in Oklahoma calling Altus and Norman home. He was proud of his home state and the fact that he learned hard work from his Pa, HL Myatt, whom he called his hero and most likely searched him out as soon as he reached Heaven’s gate. From water well drilling, farming, and ranching, he learned many life lessons from his Pa and how to have fun when the work was done. Dana’s mother taught him to love Jesus and led him to keep God’s word close to his heart which he did even in his darkest days. He spent many days reading and rereading his favorite verses knowing that God’s word is true and He is faithful to His promises.
Dana moved to Texas in 1978 with promises of palm trees and beaches to manage the Foot Action store at the Brazos Mall. This is where he met his future wife, Suzanne and after love at first sight, they dated and married August 18, 1979.
Dana worked and retired from Dow Chemical Oyster Creek Division after 30 years. He was always thankful for his job and those relationships that he formed while working many years of shift work.
He loved and bonded with many friends who shared his enthusiasm of Harley Davidsons and the outdoors. He had many stories of these adventures that he loved to share and if you were around him much, you heard them over and over.
Dana was so thankful for his church family at First Baptist Lake Jackson who lifted him up in prayer for so many years.
His family was his joy and he will be greatly missed by all of them.
Dana is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Suzanne. His son and daughter in law, Darren and Misty Ingram of Richwood. Daughter and son in law, Dana Michelle and Timothy Walker of Kingwood. Mom and Dad, Huwanta and Roy Blasius of Norman, Oklahoma. Precious grandchildren Tyler Walker, his first, Makenzie Walker his girl, Jaymes Welch, his oldest and Austin Ingram, his baby.
He will also be missed by Sean and Sue Ingram, Robin and Cori Ingram, Dale and Pilar Suitor, Nell Lindner and Bryan and Delia Hoskins along with many nieces and nephews and countless others.
