Chance Phillip Setzer, 31, of Texas City, Texas, formerly of Lake Jackson , Texas, passed from this earth on September 8, 2022. Chance was born to Tim Setzer and Darla Dunn on July 22, 1991 in the Woman’s Hospital of Texas, Houston, Texas.
Chance was a follower of Jesus Christ. He loved being with family and friends. Chance enjoyed all the times he spent with his grandfathers fishing, hunting, or any time outdoors doing chores or together in fellowship. Chance proudly completed his GED and had aspirations to build a reputation in the music industry designing back-beats for songs. He had a great love for animals, especially his beloved Bentley who passed before him. Chance had a servant’s heart and was always ready to be of help whenever and where-ever needed. He had great concern and care for the elderly, ready to assist at any given moment. Chance’s giving attitude followed him in his passing in donating several organs to others, giving those individuals a second “chance” in life.
Chance is preceded in death by his grandfather, Marvin Ray Setzer, Sr.; aunt Pam Kurtz; and childhood friend, Nicole Armand.
Chance is survived by his mother, Darla Dunn Setzer; his father, Tim (Tanis) Setzer; grandparents Ben and Vada Dunn; grandmother Doris Setzer; stepbrother Chase Prescott; stepbrother Ethan (Andi) Prescott; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are John-Charles Guseman, Nathan Armand, Ben Loggins, Keith Setzer, T-Ray Setzer, Chase Prescott, Ethan Prescott, and Jason Curry.
