Bertha Santos

Bertha Santos was born on February 25, 1933 in Rodriguez, N.L, and passed away in Houston, Texas on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at the age of 80. Family and friends were Bertha's passion and delight. Her kitchen was always open and she took great joy in feeding anyone who came to visit. She loved life, particularly when she was playing bingo or tending to her plants. She was a bright light in the lives of so many, a wonderful person who showed love to everyone she came into contact with. She was caring and beautiful inside and out. Her happiness and positivity were an inspiration for everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose Maria and Albertha Medrano Gonzalez; her husband of 51 years Jose Maria Santos; son Noe Santos; daughter Irma Santos; grandson Noe Santos, Jr. She is survived by her children Ignacio Santos and Maricela, Noelia Young, Mary Little and Aubry, Bobby Santos and Cindy, Joe Santos, David Santos and Sandy and Fred Santos. Bertha had 22 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. There will be a rosary service at Restwood Funeral Home on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 6 p.m. with a visitation following the service until 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. James F. Lynes to officiate. Interment will follow Restwood Memorial Park. Pallbearers for the service will be: Stacy Stewart, Shane Stewart, Jon Santos, Erik Santos, Brandon Delgado, Freddy Jose Santos, Rudy Santos, and Cody Young.
