Beatrice Gutierrez, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her 4 children on August 18, 2023. She was born November 4th, 1936, in George West, Texas to Gilberto Gutierrez and Simona Garcia Gutierrez. She married her love, Samuel Flores, on March 14th, 1954, who preceded her in death on June 7th, 2004. Beatrice loved to spend time with her family and attend church. She was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista De Clute since 1973. Her husband Samuel Flores was a Pastor there for over 10 years. She also shared her love for teaching children in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She loved to bake, kept an immaculate house, was highly skilled at cooking and sewing, and enjoyed her family every day. She would always say ‘Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She was preceded in death by her parents Gilberto and Simona, brothers Jerry, Gilbert Jr., Alfred, and Roy, sisters Denia, Amelia, Delia, and her great-grandson Trey “Trey Man”. Beatrice is survived by her sisters Minnie Vela (Pete), Esmeralda Candelaria, Diana Reyna, Elida Trevino, Mary Waggner (Rick), her son Tommy Flores (Rosa), Daughters Rose Ann Martinez (Johnny), Cynthia Kay Weaver (LeeRoy), Norma Linda Mendoza (Fred); plus 12 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Please join us in the celebration of life for Beatrice Gutierrez Flores on Monday, August 28th, 2023, between 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a service by her son Pastor Tommy Flores. Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, service will start at 10:00 a.m. The burial will follow at Rest Wood Memorial Park with Grandsons Joey Charles, Rudy Hernandez, Joshua Hernandez, Jonathan Flores, Jacob Flores, Jordan Sweeny, Freddie Mendoza, and grandson-in-law Samuel Cisneros serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be great-grandson Trey “Trey Man” Zelaya, grandson-in-law JJ Garcia, son-in-law’s Johnny Martinez and LeeRoy Weaver.
