Al attended Letourneau College in Longview, TX, where he met his first wife, Evelyn. They were married January 30, 1947 until her death May 5, 1979. They moved to Ft. Worth, where Al attended Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a Minister of Music and Educational Director for many years at different Baptist churches. He married Dean July 24, 1980 and lived with her until her death, September 27, 2014.
Al enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served until WW2 ended in 1945. He was a master electrician and worked for various chemical companies, retiring from Dow Chemical.
Al and Evelyn were married for 32 years, living in Texas and Illinois. They both served in the Baptist Church, Evelyn as pianist and Al as Minister of Music and Educational Director.
Al and Dean loved to travel, seeing many places in mainland US and Hawaii and traveling overseas to Israel, seeing the Holy Land.
Al is preceded in death by his father, Claude C. Keeney; mother, Mittie McBee Keeney; sisters: Bryce & Erma Lee; his first wife, Evelyn Keeney, nee Fowler; second wife, Dean Keeney, nee Breazeale; and his son, Robert Ray Keeney.
Al is survived by his sister, Claudine Carter; brother, Ernest Keeney; daughter, Kay Hale; sons, Kenneth and Paul Keeney; step-daughters, Debbie Stovall, Jessica Caldwell, Billie Carr; 15 grandchildren, Stephen Hale; Graham, Nash, & Cray Keeney; Daniel, Victor, & Andrew Keeney; Lydia Felkner; Evieann Collazo; Andrea Keeney; Tammy Sanchez; Leslie Barker; Lisa Maple; Laura Alexander; Ryan Carr, and 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 13 at 6pm at Restwood Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday January 14 at 10am at Restwood Funeral Home.
Albert Keeney will be laid to rest in Longview TX on January 15.
