William Alfred Rosenberger, age 86, of Clovis, California passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on a fall day in Fresno, California to Alfred Burwell and Ollie Ruth (Thompson) Rosenberger.
William graduated from Fresno High School and California State University Fresno earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Early in his career, he worked for Fresno City Schools as a programmer, a professor at California State University Fresno teaching Computer Science. He held several positions with the Housing Authority of Fresno, Riverside and Yuba City. During his tenure at the Housing Authority, he worked with Catholic Charities to open the first battered women’s shelter in Palm Springs. After retiring in 2006 from the Executive Director position in Yuba City, California he moved back to Fresno, California to be with family. He enjoyed tournament bowling, coin collecting, coaching his children's boys’ and girls’ soccer teams, being a Boy Scout troop leader and researching and compiling our family genealogy.
William is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carole Helen (Hopkins) Rosenberger of Clovis, CA; his sons Jeffrey William Rosenberger (Denise) of Morgan Hill, CA; Rodney Wayne Rosenberger (Pat) of Clovis, CA; his daughters Jeanine Marie Davis (Clayton) of Fresno, CA; Diane Elizabeth Moyle (Craig) of Carmichael, CA; and his son Stephen Michael Rosenberger of Fresno, CA
William was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Burwell and Ollie Ruth (Thompson) Rosenberger; his step-mother Ann Rosenberger and his sister Ramona Bopp and his sister Carol Cleavenger. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
