Verabelle Elizabeth (Liz) Cooper arrived at her Heavenly home on October 13, 2022 at the age of 92. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert (Herb) Cooper, her brother Carmond Horn, and her granddaughter Cherie Hamilton.
Liz was born in Marysville, California on August 7, 1930 to parents Willard and Zona Horn. From the outset, Liz was a generous soul with a deep love for her family. She hosted many holidays and gatherings at her home over the years, and greatly enjoyed playing games with her friends and family. She was also an amazing storyteller who often had everyone in stitches with her humor.
An avid golfer for many years, Liz and her husband enjoyed golfing around the world and spending time on the greens at their beloved Ft. Washington Golf & Country Club. In her 70s, she became a talented artist, painting numerous beautiful oil and acrylic paintings. Her favorite subjects to paint were landscapes and animals. Her dog, Sophie, was a loyal companion to Liz and could always be found by her side.
Liz is survived by her children Jerry (Diana) Pittenger, Joyce (Norm) Baird, Suzanne (Ed) Catania, and Michelle (Dan) Jenkins, grandchildren John (Tamara) Pittenger, Jeff (Julie) Pittenger, Vanessa (Barry) Birman, Linnea (Brian) Anderson, Tony (Renee) Catania, Herb (Katie) Catania, Vince (Kelly) Catania, her sister, Norma (Harry) Lewis, and numerous great-grandchildren and other family members.
