Sal was born in Bakersfield, California. After the death of his parents, Sal was raised by Reedalfo and Mary Arriaga.
Sal lived in Fresno until the age of 7 when his family moved to San Francisco. At age 17, he enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps. and served 3 years. He received the Korean Service Medal; UN Service Medal; and the National Defense Medal. After finishing his service in the Marines, Sal went to work for the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 36 years.
Sal loved bowling: he was in multiple bowling leagues with his daughter Joanne. He loved to water ski as well as travel. He loved taking his motorhome camping until a tragic car accident in 1999 left him with limited mobility. That did not stop him, you would often see him riding around on his red scooter. Sal was an avid 49er fan.
Sal is survived by his daughter Joanne Moreno; and his daughter Carol Logan and son-in-law Jonathan Logan, his granddaughter Selina Hernandez, his granddaughter Melanie Martinez, his grandson Robert Cabrera Jr., his granddaughter Alicia Cabrera, his granddaughter Monica Cabrera and his granddaughter Cassandra Logan, as well as his brother Richard Arriaga and his sister Vera Orlando-Winn
Salvador was preceded in death by his middle daughter Alice Cabrera, his brother John Moreno, his sister Lou Flores, his sister Katie Cervantes and his brother Rudy Arriaga.
Sal also has 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.
A Memorial Graveside Service for Salvador will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
