Randy Treece was born in Alhambra, CA, and grew up in Van Nuys, CA. He got his BA in geography at the now CSU Northridge and a Masters in Urban Planning at Cal Poly Pomona. After schooling, he served the government for a year in the VISTA program in Colorado. It was there he committed his life to the Lord. Back in California, he took a job with the State of California, and met Kathleen in 1979. They married in 1980 and moved to Fresno and then Clovis, CA. He worked with CalTrans as one of the first transportation planners in the state from 1980-2012 when he retired. In 1984, his daughter Ashley was born. He served the community through his church, as a hospital chaplain, through The Way Ministries in downtown Fresno, and mentoring others in Toastmasters International where he was both governor and president. He spent his free time collecting memorabilia and rooting for the Dodgers.
Randy is survived by his wife Kathleen Treece, his daughter Ashley Holsen with her husband Jordan, his brother Gary Treece with his wife Nola, and sister-in-law Sharon Treece.

Shall I continue paying your Transportation Toastmasters club member dues?  How will we succeed without our last remaining Charter Member?  
I was honored and humbled to have you serve as an evaluation committee member on my high performance leadership project, in order to accomplish my Distinguished Toastmaster award.  Your high performance membership, your high performance commitment, and your high performance compassion, produced a high performance friendship, in you.  And I was honored and humbled when you asked me to serve as one of your HPL committee members, in order for your DTM to dazzle your badge.  I know that with your Gold badge, and Dodger Blue wings, you will be one high performance guardian angel, for all of us.
Toastmasters produces communicators and leaders, but my greatest Toastmasters benefit, is always making new friends. Distinguished Toastmaster Randy, you’re one of my best.  I will miss you.
Kathleen, I offer my deepest condolences to you, and Ashley, and all of your family.  May Our Lord guide and protect you, and hold you close, in His loving embrace.

As longtime friend and Caltrans co-worker with Randy I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I appreciate that Randy has been one of the most dedicated and dependable individuals I have worked with.  I particularly remember his commitment to the development and ongoing success of the Thursday Toastmasters Group.  A group that he saw as improving both himself and so many others to be their best at Caltrans. 

My condolences to the family during this most trying of times.
