1, 2021. Paula was borm June 7, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas to Julia Rocha and Rafael Castillo.
We regretfully announce the passing of our mother, Paula Guzman of Clovis, California at the
age of 97. She was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.
Paula was one of the strongest, kindest and giving woman to ever walk this earth. Our family
was very blessed to have her as our mother. Paula loved cooking and would feed everyone who
Visited her. They never left her house hungry. Everyone remembers eating her delicious freshly
made tortillas.
In 1945, she met her husband the love of her life, Matias Guzman. Together they went on to have
9 children. She was a loving mother who was always there for her children. She was very
faithful in her Catholic faith and the receipt of the Eucharist nourished her throughout her life.
Her passing will leave a space no one will be ever to fill.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Julia, husband Matias, son John, greatgranddaughter Jocelynn, great-grandson Joseph, step-grandson Marshall.
Paula is survived by her 3 sons, Israel and daughter-in-law Peggy, Ralph and daughter-in-law Ruth.
Matias Jr. and daughter-in-law Arlene, and her 5 daughters Ester & son-in-law Eddie, Eloise, Lucy
&son-in-law Jerry, Julie and son-in-law Jesse, Margie & son-in-law Robert, daughter-in-law
Angie, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Her sister
Vivian and brother in-law Henry.
Mom, we love you very much and you're favorite response was always "I love you more." Her
family will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
A Visitation for Paula will be held Monday, September 13, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
A Rosary Service will occur Monday, September 13, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
A Funeral Service will occur Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 929 Harvard Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
A Committal Service will occur Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
Serving as pallbearers are Israel Guzman, Ralph Guzman, Matias Guzman Jr., Jon Guzman, Jesse Gonzalez II, Carlos Ochoa, Reggie Guzman and Sterling Guzman.
