Loretta Poole, born in Gooding, Idaho, on September 3, 1938, to John and Elizabeth Hocklander, passed away peacefully in her home on July 18, 2024. As the youngest girl of ten children, Loretta's early life was marked by frequent moves and hard work as her family navigated challenging times.
After moving to Vancouver, Washington, as a teenager, she found love with Lloyd Mobley, Jr. They married and started a family in Fresno, California. She was a devoted mother to three children: Dwain, Donna, and Vincent. Widowed at a young age, Loretta demonstrated resilience and strength, working tirelessly to support her family. In 1975, Loretta found love again with Harlan Poole, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Her 30 year career at AT&T, saw her break barriers by becoming one of the first women to work as a rotary switch installer. Loretta's life was rich with family, friends, and a love of travel. An accomplished homemaker, she was known for her immaculate home and dedication to her family. She cherished her siblings and maintained strong family ties throughout her life.
Loretta's home was always warm and welcoming, with fresh coffee and a full cookie jar. Preceded in death by her first husband Lloyd, her son Dwain, her second husband Harlan, and Grandson Jacob. She leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and unyielding spirit. Loretta will be deeply missed by her surviving family and all who knew her.
A funeral service for Loretta will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Ave, Clovis, CA 93612. Services will conclude at the chapel.
