Kelly Osterberg

Kelly Elizabeth Osterberg passed away on October 30th at the age of 69. She is survived by her mother Janice Walsh; brother Matthew Walsh and his wife Artie; husband Gary of 47 years; her son Sean and his wife Amy; granddaughters Rylee and Reese; daughter Jamie and husband Dale; granddaughter Ella and grandson Jack.

Kelly was born July 22,1954 in San Diego to Jack and Janice Walsh. About a year later, they moved up to the Fresno area where Kelly was raised with her younger brother Matt. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1972 and then went on to Fresno State. While attending Fresno State she worked at Leones Knit Fabrics where she gained sewing skills that she used throughout her life.

She first met Gary in 1974 at Sambo’s Restaurant in Fresno; they married in 1976 and resided on Baron Ave their entire married life. They went on to open The Brass Oak Tree in 1979 later becoming Gary O Furniture. They continued to work together at the furniture store until their retirement in 2013. Working at the store gave her the flexibility to be an active mother in Sean and Jamie’s life and later enjoyed her days of taking care of all 4 of her grandchildren.

The furniture business opened a lot of yearly travel opportunities to San Francisco, Las Vegas, and North Carolina for furniture markets. They also took many trips with various radio stations or advertisement companies to Reno, Hawaii, and Jamaica. But her favorite trips, besides family vacations to Idaho, were with their best friends, Linda, and Dave Weems. Together they watched many Fresno State football games as season ticket holders and traveled to watch the Bulldogs all over California. Their best trips were to Hawaii and Italy with the Weems, full of great food and lots of laughter.

Kelly's presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will endure. May her memory be a source of strength and inspiration to us all, and may we find comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life for Kelly will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Clovis Veteran's Memorial Hall, 808 Fourth Street, Clovis, California 93612.
