When he was 10 his family moved to a farm near Clovis. John was active in 4H and he went to Ireland through the International Farm Youth Exchange Program. He graduated from Fresno State College with a degree in biology and a teaching credential.
He met and fell in love with Karen Moore. They were married on February 1,1958 and raised two daughters, Cathleen and Cristin. They traveled throughout California visiting many historical and natural sites. John and Karen shared a passion for collecting and researching. He recently donated his extensive World’s Fair Collection to the California State University at Fresno. John shared his bountiful knowledge of history, nature and his collections with others. He was known for his honesty and integrity. John and Karen were married for 61 years.
On September 22, 2019, John Richard Reynolds passed away in the company of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Moore Reynolds; daughter, Cathleen Kozielski (husband Kyle); grand-daughters, Stephanie and Shelby Lynn; grandson, Damion Dunn; great-grandson, Damion Dunn Jr.; his sister, Carol Ankenman, and his brother, Clyde Reynolds, along with their families.
John was preceeded in death by his father, Emmett Reynolds; his mother, Margaret Reynolds; and his daughter, Cristin Waters.
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 30th at the Clovis First Baptist Church.
