Georgia Ann Hunter, age 86, of Clovis, California passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024. She was born on a late summer day in 1937 in the city of Fresno to Robert C. Lake and Leona W. (Boltinghouse) Lake.
Georgia married her loving husband, Alan Hunter in 1963. They shared a wonderful 45 years together before Alan passed away.
Georgia graduated in 1954, at age 16, from Central High School. From there she attended ABC Business College to become a legal secretary, after which she went on to work for Wild, Carter, Tipton & Oliver serving as their paralegal and probate administrator for 44 years.
Georgia was an avid golfer and you could find her playing every week at Airways Municipal Golf Course. She was also the president, secretary, treasurer, and overall coordinator of the Airways Municipal Golf Course Women's League for 20 years. She thoroughly enjoyed playing golf with her wonderful friends and family members.
Georgia is survived by her son Brett A. and daughter-in-law Kendra Hunter of Clovis and grandchildren Taylor McCullough-Hunter, Ana Hunter, and Ryen Ann Hunter. She is also survived by her daughter Leslie Hunter Smith and son-in-law Tom Smith of Fresno and grandchildren Nicholas Holmes, Brent and wife Theresa Smith, Jessica and husband Aaron Hansen, and Zachary Smith; as well as great-grandchildren Damian and Leona Hansen; her sister Juanita and Fred “Fritz” Christian of Fresno; and her brother Leon “Butch” and Pat Lake of Fresno. She is also survived by a large number of friends and extended family. We will all miss you, Georgia “Gigi”.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue in Clovis. Celebration of Life at Classic Catering to follow 11-3 p.m., 625 4th Street in Clovis.
