Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Betty was born into a Wyoming pioneer family and carried that strong spirit and passion in her everyday life. Betty married Jim Norman in 1954 and eventually relocated the family to Fresno in 1965. She loved music and the arts and was charitable with her time and talents playing the organ at St. James and St. Columba churches.
Betty enjoyed hosting holidays at the Norman home and would extend that hospitality to the community leading Post-Polio Association and as a hospice counselor.
Betty loved God’s creation, enjoying coastal drives through Carmel and remembering the rolling plains from her early years in Gillette, Wyoming. She took great pride in her children and ensured that her daughters finished college and advanced degrees.
Betty was married to Jim for 58 years and they had three children; Terry Norman, Jamie Kidd and Katie Sanchez.
Betty was predeceased by son Terry Norman in 2007, husband Jim Norman in 2012 and grandson Taylor Hancock in 2020.
She is survived by her brother Bill Underwood, children Jamie and husband Bill Kidd, Katie and husband James Sanchez, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Grandma Norman will be missed!
