Thomas F. Carney

Thomas F. Carney, age 83, of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on September 26, 2015, born on July 15, 1932 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Beloved husband of Judy Carney for 52 years. Loving father of Karen (Robert) Stevenson, Kathy (Paul) King, Michael (Ana) Carney, and Patrick (Denise) Carney. Cherished grandfather of Thomas (Stephanie) Stevenson, Melissa (Robert) Geroux, Samantha Stevenson, Bryan King, Ashley Carney, Austin King, Michael Carney, Brendan Carney, Ryan Carney and one great-grandchild Bobby Stevenson. Dear brother of Kathleen (James) Smith.

Thomas was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Thomas worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Mount Clemens, Michigan for over 30 years. In his younger days, Thomas enjoyed raising his four children, camping, canoing, bowling, and playing softball. In his later years, Thomas enjoyed his retirement spending every day with his loving wife and attending his grandchildren's various school and sporting events. He also enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing. Thomas was an active member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, where he was a member for over 51 years.

Thomas will lie in-state on Wednesday September 30, 2015, beginning at 9:30 am until time of Mass at 10:00 am, at St. Matthias Catholic Church 12311 19 Mile Road Sterling Heights, Michigan 48313. Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 29, 2015, from 2:00-8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm, at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Road Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
