I am just seeing this about Susan. I am so very sorry.  We had so much fun for soooooo many years at thunder bowl bowling alley every year. I will always remember the good times. May she rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to her husband, children, grandchildren amd the rest of her family and friends. She was a great person with a big heart. 

We are so sorry to hear of Susan's passing. What a wonderful person and a joy to be around. She will truly be missed at the Lions games come this fall as well as the Reetz family reunion.
  She will no doubt be mad if the Lions make the playoff's this year, but she will be watching from heaven, best seat in town!

Susan was my dear friend and golfing buddy.  I am a proud member of her Wild Women's Weekend of Golf (W3G for short). Each year Susan hosted us at the Reetz farm house in West Branch for golf, games and other shenanigans.  She planned the theme, venue and wacky games and awards for us.  I will always remember laughing till it hurt, dancing under the stars and howling at the moon.  I will miss you dear friend. Love Karen Smahay.

This was such a fun trip to Cozumel.  Susan was picked to try to break the piñata. I wish I had a picture of her when she fell on the sand with her feet in the air. We laughed so hard. She earned the name “soup Susan” on that trip, when the waiter came up to her and said “soup?”, and she said “it’s Susan”.   We had so many fun times organizing bowling tournaments, trips up North, dinners, etc.    We sure will miss her! 

I’m am so saddened by the loss of Aunt Susan. She was my shortie twin. She was piece of the Reetz family that will be irreplaceable. Lots of memories together at the farm house and holiday/family gatherings. I looked up to her in many ways. She is gone but will never be forgotten

Fun times at the 2021 Annual BCBSM Retiree Golf Outing with Laura Dancsok, Susan Reetz and Ann Regling.

Susan was a dear friend and colleague.  We worked together many years at the Blues.  On the job, when Susan was given an assignment, she was like a dog with a bone--she would not give up until it was completed to her satisfaction.  Susan took pride in her work and cleaned up her share of messes!  She excelled at research, documentation and organizational skills.  She also was quick to recognize and reward her team for their accomplishments.

Outside of work, Susan was fun to be around--always smiling and laughing.  She loved to bring people together to celebrate.  We spent time on the golf course every summer, but I must admit, I struggled to keep up!

My sincere condolences to the family.  She touched my heart.

In 2020, Susan organized a get together of staff who worked together at the Blues, including —Barb Viaene, Pat Massey, Jann Cantelon and herself.  Good memories!

I am so sorry for your loss. I too knew Susan from working at BCBSM for many years. It was a blessing to getting to know her on a personal and professional level. 

I’m so saddened to hear of Susan’s passing.  My thoughts and prayers go to Gene, her children and grandchildren.  I worked many years with Sue at BCBSM.  We shared many laughs through some difficult business issues.  She was so respected and thought of highly.  May she rest now after her fight here on earth in the Lords arms.  God speed.

Sue was a dear friend for decades.  She was kind, thoughtful, and fun!  I will miss her tremendously!

Pat (Browne) Hillard

I met Susan in 1965 through her ex-husband, Leroy, who I had become friends with while working as a draftsman at Proficient Engineering Company in Madison Heights, Michigan.  After meeting and befriending Leroy, I found out, that, he and Susan and me and my ex, Marian, were married on the same date, July 18th, 1964 and had spent our wedding night about a mile apart in motels on Gratiot Avenue, lol.  After some years her ex-husband and I parted company, somehow though, Susan and I remained friends and stayed in contact with each other throughout the years.  Back in the day I spent a lot of time making many cherished memories with Susan and her family, I do miss those days.  

I last saw Susan while visiting Michigan a couple of years ago, she and Gene had met us at Buddy’s Pizzeria in Sterling Heights, we had a great time reminiscing about the good old days.  
I love you and will miss you my dear friend, Rest In Peace Sweet Susan……..


Sue was a beautiful intelligent woman, with a great sense of humor. She will be truly missed.

Gene and family, I cannot begin to express how Susan affected my life.  I felt so honored to be invited to the Wild Women Weekend Golf trip (WWWG) for the first time and all the following years. We all had such a good time. I learned from Susan the proper way to cut a pepper and learned how to play Euchre. She was the best at organizing our golf schedules and games. I am glad that I was a recipient of one of her handmade awards I will cherish it forever. I will miss you dear friend.
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Jim and I were very saddened to learn of Susan’s passing. We missed seeing them in FL this year and playing golf. I enjoyed working with Susan at BCBSM and also was glad she agreed to join our 4+4 golf group. She joined us on a few trips and was always the one ready to do whatever the group wanted to do. To: Gene and Family. Marlis and I enjoyed 63 years of friendship with Susan. She and Marlis were classmates and best friends at Roseville High School both in school and after. Susan was Maid of Honor at our wedding 60 years ago. She was also our son Steve's Godmother. We enjoyed her company and did a lot together with our families in the early years. We enjoyed playing cards and socializing. We will miss her dearly but now she is out of pain and with her mother Marie, Dad Earl, her brother Jim and son Todd in peace.
