Sara Ann Weiss, age 95, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025 with family at her side. Sara was the beloved wife of the late James Weiss for 71 years; Loving mother of David Weiss (the late Lisa), Mary Crecelius (Scott), and John Weiss (Suzanne); Treasured grandmother of Amy Lewan (Phil), Tim Crecelius (Jessica), Stephen Weiss, Amanda Crecelius, and Kaitlyn Weiss; Cherished great-grandmother of James Lewan, Titus Crecelius, Natalie Lewan, and Thomas Lewan.
Sara was born January 2, 1930, in Imlay City, Michigan, to Chris and Alice Lindke. She was the beloved and devoted wife of James for 71 years—partners in life, love, and ministry, never one without the other. Sara’s life was a beautiful reflection of faith, love, and service. A dedicated partner in ministry, she had a passion for teaching children, found great joy in playing the piano, using her musical gifts to bless her church, family and friends, and sharing her gifts and deep faith with those around her. She was a woman of prayer, believing wholeheartedly in the power of the gospel and the importance of sharing it with others. Her greatest hope was for her family to carry on that mission of faith.
With a sweet and kind soul, a radiant smile, and a joyful sense of humor, Sara brought warmth and encouragement to all she met. She had a heart for people, always eager to greet, interact, and make others feel welcome. Her adventurous spirit made her willing to embrace new experiences, whether traveling to new places or trying a new dish.
Above all, Sara’s servant heart was evident in the way she lived—selflessly, joyfully, and with unwavering devotion to God and those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
