Ron was born on March 19th, 1957 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was raised by Jean and Gerald Haarer on an Arabian horse and cattle farm in Perry, Michigan with his three sisters and brother. This experience fostered a passion for farming and agriculture which he carried throughout his life. Ron’s business and personal endeavors over the years have taken him on many adventures, and he truly lived life to the fullest.
Ron was 66 years old when he passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023 after enduring a five month battle following an intracranial hemorrhage. Until his last moments Ron showed the same perseverance, strength, and drive that everyone around him both respected and loved. His appetite and passion for life was contagious and he was a force of nature when it came to his work, hobbies, and the love and compassion he showed for his beautiful wife and family. There was not a problem he could not solve with creativity/ingenuity, fortitude, and pure determination. He was an amazing cook who loved to eat. Ron’s passion and amazing ability to design and construct was apparent by the multiple projects he helped his family and friends with. It was never work to him; it was time to share with them and have some laughs. Ron had an incredible affinity for boating which was proven by the amount boats he owned over the years and his retirement into boat sales. He loved to travel and the opportunity to meet new people and talk their ear off. He made friends everywhere he went. And of course, we cannot forget his love of Hallmark, now known as “Haarer-mark”.
Ron is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Michelle (Williams) Haarer. His love for her was quite obvious by the worn photos in his wallet he pulled out to show anyone willing to look and his beautiful but simple phrase “I love you” he said to her at least 100 times an hour. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Haarer, his sisters Terry Saxton, Pam Collins [Kevin], Karen Ziokowski [Bob], brother Jeff [Michelle] & sister in law; Jennifer Stamper [Kenny] multiple nieces and nephews and two children. He is predeceased by his father Gerald.
Please join Ron’s family in love, support, and prayer as they celebrate a life that will always be admired and never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
