Roger Lee Horne passed away peacefully in his Shelby Township home, Friday August 26th 2022. Roger was 82 years old born April 13, 1940 in Coeburn, Virginia. Son of the late Woodrow and Frances Horne. On February 27th 1960 Roger married the love of his life Sandra Lee Horne. Roger and Sandra were blessed with 4 amazing children. If you know Roger he loved a good debate. Roger loved bowling so he could let his competitive side come out. Golfing was something he liked to do but he always called it a rich man’s sport. No matter how bad they sucked Roger loved his Tiger’s baseball games. Roger and his wife loved going on cruises traveling anywhere from Hawaii to Germany. Living in Ocala Florida for many years as a winter home, until moving back home to Shelby Township Michigan to be closer to family as Rogers health started declining.
Roger is the loving and devoted husband of Sandra, dearest father of Tom(Kim), Dave(Sue), Steve(Lynn) and Dawn(Galen) Shipp. Roger was a proud grandfather/Big Papa to many grand and great grandchildren. Roger was the oldest brother of Joanne(Richard), Debbie, Chrissy(John) and sister in laws Annette, Kris and Cindy Horne. Roger is also survived by his sister in law Pat(Jim) Smith. Roger was predeceased by his brothers Jim, Woody, Lewis and Ronnie. Roger was also uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Roger will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 2 until 8 pm at Kaul Funeral Home. A visitation will occur Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am, Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035. Inurnment will be at a later date at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township,Michigan.
