Rita Ann Lentz, of Roseville, Michigan passed away on November 7, 2022 at 83 years of age. Rita Ann Lentz was born on June 21, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan and attended Sacred Heart Grade School in Roseville, Michigan and St. Mary Catholic High School in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
She married James "Jim" Lentz on June 21st, 1958 on her 19th Birthday. She told her kids when they were adults that she chose that date because her father told her she couldn't get married until her 19th birthday. She knew Jim from St Mary's High School, but got to know him while working at the candy counter at Mt. Clemens Theater, which he managed. They were married for 64 years and have three children: Linda, James "Jim", and David.
Rita was a Travel Manager at AAA in her young adult life, then began her second career of 20+ years as a Front Office Secretary and Athletic Secretary at Warren De La Salle High School.
Rita and Jim were awarded the Roseville Beautification Award many years ago for their beautiful home and landscaping and was later asked to join as a member of the Beautification Commission, a position she held for many years and passionately loved.
Rita and Jim have attended St. Pio of Pietreleina (formerly St Athanasius) in Roseville, Michigan for 57 years, where Rita volunteered her time and devotion to her faith in many ways, including through the Ministry to the Sick and Homebound, the Funeral Choir, Food Pantry, Weekly Offering Administration and Festival Finance Support.
She was an avid reader (always a book in hand) and loved her Detroit Tigers (and had just mentioned she couldn't wait for Spring Training to begin again in February). She also looked forward to a monthly luncheon with current and former faculty of De La Salle whom she had worked with throughout the years.
Rita's love and support of her family was endless. All who knew her knew she would fiercely support all those she cared for.
She will be greatly missed every day by her surviving family, including her husband Jim daughter, Linda (Brian) Loush; sons: Jim (Diana) and David (Jami); grandchildren: Paul (Kate) Brozo, Amanda (David) Colombo, Benjamin, Grace, Mary, Sarah, and Allison Lentz; and great grandchildren: Noah and Mack Brozo. She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Heitchue; mother, Margaret Heitchue; infant son Matthew; brothers: Ray and Mick Heitchue; sister-in-law, Ruth Heitchue; and son-in-law, Paul Brozo.
