Pamela Ellen (Goltz) Shaw died peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born on March 21, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, the fourth child and second daughter of the late Bill and Laura (Blackstock) Goltz. She was followed into this world two minutes later by her twin sister, Paula who remains her best friend for eternity. Growing up on the St. Clair River in Algonac, Michigan instilled in her a lifelong love of cattails, dragonflies, and water lilies. After earning bachelor and master degrees from Eastern Michigan University, Pam spent her impactful career educating and inspiring students in the Utica Community Schools. She and husband Mike spent many happy years generously hosting all kinds of events from pool parties to postgame gatherings to holiday feasts and more. An advocate for all animals, plants, and people, she was such a loving presence and deeply loved by all who knew her.
Pam is survived by husband Mike Shaw, as well as sister Joanne Ames, brother Gerry Goltz and in-laws Tim Shaw, Don Campbell, Kim and Laila Goltz. Also survived by a flock of nieces and nephews, layers deep, all who feel so blessed to have had their Aunt Pam. Predeceased by brother Bill Goltz, Jr., twin sister Paula Campbell, and in-laws Bob Ames and Dave Shaw.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions and for the safety of family and friends, a small private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Michigan https://www.hom.org/donations/
