She was an amazing and much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Mary is survived by her husband Thomas Blewett; children, Lynn Cunningham (Joe) and Frederick Schwarzwalder (Anne); grandchildren, Joey Cunningham, Amanda Cunningham, Lucas Schwarzwalder and Ellie Schwarzwalder; sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Pewitt and Connie Kostrick; and many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Milton “Gene” Pewitt and Julia Pewitt and sister, Denise Bryan.
Mary was beloved by many because she was a caring and thoughtful person. She always had something useful in her bag for everything, whether it was a simple tissue or snack, or something fun for sleepovers for her grandchildren, who were her life. Anyone who knew Mary also knew that she was a big University of Michigan Football fan. She will be sorely missed.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 2-8 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI. A brief visitation will follow Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 10 AM, until time of funeral service at 11 AM, also at Resurrection Funeral Home. Final resting place, Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI.
