He proudly served in the US Navy from 1956-1960. In 1971, he married his loving Wife Billie Jo, and they had two Children. He spent his working career as a Hi-low Driver and Foreman for Chrysler, where he retired from in 2001, after 30+ years.
Marty was known to be outspoken, lively and unique. A special hobby he had involved woodworking and woodturning, making many beautiful pieces through the years. During the Lenten season, he enjoyed volunteering at the Knights of Columbus for the Friday Fish Fry’s. He also volunteered at the Warren Public Schools to inspire and teach the youth the skill of woodwork. It brought him joy to donate pens to active service members who fought over seas. Marty stayed busy helping the public when he could, and during his free time, he was a great cook and loved to go bowling.
Marty is survived by his Wife; his children, Maryann (Rick) Hodge and William (Stephanie) Mangold, Martin & Douglas, and Christine (Ed) Leibeck; His Grandchildren, Hannah, Kailey, Ricky, Megan, Emma, and Joey. He is preceded in death by his parents and his eight siblings, Frank, Albert, Paul, Fredrick, Edward, Heinrich, Mary Ann and Helen.
Marty will be missed by all that knew him, especially his family, but also his furry friend Sidney.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 4th, 2023 from 2:00PM – 8:00 Pm with a Rosary to be said by the Knights of Columbus at 7:00pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Township, Michigan 48035
