Beloved husband of Karen for 49 years; adored father of Pete (Becky), Josh (Allison), John (Rachel), and the late Joey; proud grandpa of Mike, Alex, Matt, Aaron, and Lily; dear brother of Phil (Amy), the late Jack, and the late Fred (Sue); uncle of Sean, Jeremy, Christian, and Emily.
Joe was born on November 27, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph and Mary Hopersberger. He proudly served his country with the Navy with tours in Vietnam and Desert Storm, and retired from the US Postal service. He was the family comedian, a Pro-Life Conservative Catholic, and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
The family will greet friends from 2:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp. Rosary service at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 25 at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank, Clinton Twp. Interment with Naval Military Honors following at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be directed to Right to Life of Michigan (www.RTL.org), a cause very dear to Joe.
