Howard graduated from Eastern High School in 1950 and was hired into the GM Die Design Apprenticeship. Howard worked at GM-Fisher Body for 39 years, retiring as a Manager of the GM B.O.C. Die Engineering Group. Howard served in the Armed Forces in the Korean Conflict. Howard was a numismatist, an amateur geologist, a squirrel feeder, bird watcher, and a founding church council member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Harrison Township.
When Howard and Martha were not traveling in their motorhome, he could be found on the golf course, spending time with his grandchildren, or enjoying a glass of wine with his family. Howard’s goal in life was to take care of his wife, his love, and his best friend, Martha, and that’s what he did. Howard is preceded in death by Martha, and his Mother Emma Fudge Fenner. Howard loved his family and laughed at their antics. He is survived by his daughters: Tammy (Jay Lamky) Fenner-Lamky, Teri Fenner; sons: Timothy (Judy) Fenner, and Todd Fenner; grandchildren: Amber (Kevin) Crowther, Dr. Jordan Martha Fenner (Dr. Jeff O’Donnell), Kelsey Fenner Kerbawy, Zachary Howard Fenner, Heather (Robert) Brady, and Eric (Marmi) Lamky; great-grandchildren: Ian Lamky, Leonore Crowther, Savannah (Jordan) Berning, Garrett Lamky, and Nicholas Brady; niece, Yvette (Robert) Wilde and nephew, Daniel (Dr. Janet) Blakely. He was blessed by having lovely caregivers, Alma Schmidt and Carol Robinson, who were always at his side.
