Harold proudly served his Country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for many years at KEO Cutters moving from machinist to plant manager. Harold coached little league for his children and all around avid fan of sports. Harry and his high school buddies were the founding members of the East Detroit Athletic Club. He enjoyed bowling but loved golfing and even made custom clubs. Harold was a big Tigers fan- never missing a game broadcast. He played the accordion and instilled a love of music in his sons.
Harold is survived by his children, Kathy Curtis, Ken (Lynne Carey Alter) Alter, Don (Carol) Alter, Tom (Heide) Alter, Bob (Jane) Alter; grandchildren, Melissa (Craig), Jon (Megan), Zach (Janylle), Sarah, Adam; great-grandchildren, Liam, Lucy, Payson, Chase, Carlyle, Isaiah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Lucille, a son-in-law, Al Curtis; and his siblings, Stanley Alter, Roger Alter, and Shirley Hayes.
A visitation for Harry will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 2 to 8 pm with Military Honors at 3 pm and a Celebration of Life at 6 pm Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48035.
