He was a proud military veteran, serving in the US Army in the 1960s. He had many fond memories of the friends and overseas experiences while in the military and would often share snippets of his time in Germany. After his service, he spent his years as a skilled automotive bumper and painter. He was always commended for his attention to detail yet very humble about his ability. He wouldn’t settle for anything less than perfect and was always looking to improve, learn and apply new techniques to his trade.
He was a proud Detroit native who loved all things Detroit. He was a car enthusiast, devoted Red Wings, National Coney Island chili dog foodie and very much enjoyed Rock and Rye pop.
He was a lifelong learner who enjoyed the history channel and talk radio because he always thought you could learn something new. He valued education for his children and dedicated himself to providing them a private school education and seeing that they became first-generation college graduates. He loved watching hockey, listening to his scanner, and spending time with his 6 grandchildren. His grandchildren meant the world to him and he enjoyed every moment he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his children, Bryan and Michelle, his grandchildren, Eliza, Amelie, Logan, Leona, Kai, and Caleb, his brother, Vincent, and numerous extended family members.
A memorial service will be held on November 30th. Details on time and location forthcoming
