Frances Ann Briggs Katz Brandtner, age 77, of Clinton Township, MI, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019, surrounded by family, friends and caregivers. She was born in Caro Michigan on December 10, 1941 to the late Levern Lee Briggs of Mayville, MI and Margarete Ann Fitzstephens Briggs Weaver of Caro, MI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands John Arthur Katz of Mayville MI and James Edwin Brandtner of Roseville, MI, and her sister Betty Lou Briggs Griffin of Saginaw MI. Mrs. Brandtner graduated from the University of Michigan with a Nursing Degree, became a RN and worked as a wound care nurse and later geriatrics. She was affiliated with St Jane Francis de Chantal Catholic Church, Sterling Heights, and was a full time grandmother, a great friend and exceptional advisor. She loved people, was an avid card player, and had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by three sons Edward Katz and wife Tanya of Chesapeake, VA; Levern Katz and wife Linda of Mayville, MI; Eric Katz and wife Lorilyn of Caro, MI; one daughter Jolynn Katz Friedmann and husband Joseph of Sterling Heights, MI; three step daughters; Debra Brandtner Johns and husband Joseph of Warren, MI; Kristin Brandtner Hozian and husband Brian of Rochester Hills, MI and Laura Brandtner of Harrison Township MI. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, MI from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held privately.
