Ellen Theresa Hogan, age 87 passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Ellen was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was born June 20, 1936 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan the late Frank A. & Martha A. (Kaul) Dansbury.
Ellen was raised in Grosse Pointe Farms, she attended and St. Paul's High School and graduated in 1955. She was kind and engaging, quickly endearing herself to others. Ellen was a member of the Guardian Angels Parish in Detroit for more than 40 years. She often enjoyed dining and visiting with friends and spending time along the Grosse Pointe Farms Pier. She was extremely proud of her six grandchildren.
On October 11, 1958, she married the love of her life, Sylvester Hogan, at St. Paul's Church in Grosse Pointe Farms. They were married for 50 years, when he preceded her in death. Ellen is survived by her children, Robert G. (Laura) Hogan, Ann M. (Joseph) Lenard, Thomas F. (Beth) Hogan; her grandchildren, Nicole, Daniel, John, Hannah, Connor, Aidan; her siblings, Thomas F. Dansbury, Margaret C. Liano, Grace A. Williams, Marie F. Rappaport; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sylvester; and a son, James T. Hogan.
A visitation for Ellen will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kaul Funeral Home. A visitation will occur Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10 am until a Funeral Service at 11 am at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Township, Michigan 48035. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan.
