Edward A. Beitel, age 81, of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on June 13, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born on December 10, 1942 to parents Harry and Bea Beitel, the youngest of their 5 children. He was the beloved husband and high school sweetheart of Valerie Beitel (Nee Ditslear). They were married for almost 63 years; Dear father of Ardith Beitel (Susan Garbe), Mark Beitel (the late Kathy), Leslie Beitel and the late Linda Goboly (Rich); Loving grandfather of Jesse Sims, Samantha Goboly (Ken) and Melissa Goboly (Nick); Great-grandfather of Ivy Goboly-Pitsch, Brody Goboly-Wilson and Willow Goboly-Pitsch; Dearest brother of Robert Beitel, the late Roxanne Shaull, the late Charles T. Beitel and the late Lois M. Orwig-Burgh.
Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, telling bad dad jokes, collecting coins and playing computer games. He had several dog companions over the years of his life, but he held a special place in his heart for his late dog-buddy, Scruff. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
A memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 1 – 4 PM, with a brief memorial service at 3 PM at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund or the Cancer Research Institute.
