Steve and Tony and family,
I am very sorry to hear that your mom passed away.  Along with your mom I have been in the neighborhood  like her, your father and you boys for over 4 decades.  We would talk now and then, mostly in the Spring and Summer.  She would walk Mary Jo and feed the birds and squirrels often.  She was such a kind spirit and would pray for everyone.  Last summer she told me to go to Magahay, which was now torn down, and get some of the old bricks to have as a memory of our kids Elementary School.  I did just that and found a few nice bricks.  When my husband had major surgery a few years back she prayed for him and we prayed for her when she became ill.  She was certainly one of the sweetest neighbors and I will really miss seeing her this Spring and Summer.  I always told her “ we are the original neighbors and go back a long time”.  My daughter’s are Tiffany and April, who went to school the same time you boys did.  God bless you and your family and hope you will find peace in all the beautiful memories you have shared with your mom.❤️

My Aunt Diane was the greatest…honest, sincere, loving and funny as hell!  She was my mothers musketeer and friend.  She never forgot to make you feel important and gave of herself with humility.  God will welcome her home with the rest of all those we may have lost but love forever!

I worked with Diane and Joe. They were always kind to me and could always make me smile. My heart goes out to the family because I know how close you all are. I was lucky to have known them. 



  This will be my last memory posting. But I know that when after Joe passed on and she got more involved with spending time watching her grandchildren or pet sitting or being a dog foster mom, she decided to sell their Gladwin home. She however missed the nature and animals up north, so she finally spent the money to make her Sterling Heights property more attractive to birds, squirrels and even fish. In addition to increasing the fliower planting area in the front yard, but she had a small pond put in her backyard with a waterfall and plenty of space for wild flowers and other plants!  She loved to sit on her enclosed back porch and listen to the waterfall and watch all the birds because she also had numerous bird houses. She would enjoy reading the Bible or novels or doing puzzles out there. It is so peaceful and I admit I often visited her just enjoy the calm. 
     Many others have already described what a wonderful woman she was, so I will just use one word LOVE.  She was loved by all and loved All Gods creatures Human, animals critters and flowers. We were Blessed to have her born in our family, our own Angel among us.  Miss you little sister

Dear Steve and Tony and Families,  We are so sad for the loss of your Mom.  Diane was the sweetest person.  She was always happy and beamed with the biggest smile!  We pray that soon your hearts will be filled with happy memories and not sad with sorrow.  Grief never ends but it changes.  It’s a passage, not a place to stay.  Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.  It is the price of Love.  Our Deepest Sympathy, Pat and Ron Sygiel.  

Diane and Joe had a wonderful marriage and raised two sons Steve and Tony.
    Diane was happy she had her sons because she didn’t want to deal with girls and messing with their hair and frilly dresses.  So she had 6 grandchildren 2 boys and 4 girls and she learned to enjoy all of them!
     Diane was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed their “retirement home “ up in Gladwin on a river.  She also enjoyed going  to all her sons games and than her grandchildren events
   Unfortunately Joe, after suffering for years with colitis flare ups, developed cancer and Diane was always at his side till his last breath 7 years ago.  They are again united at last.


I really loved your mom.  She had a vibrant spirit, a great love for the outdoor and dogs, which I also cherish.  In my opinion, she could not have asked for a better family. Your guys are all #1 and her beautiful spirit and kindness, fun laugh and genuine care for others already carries on in each of you.  I know her and Joe are smiling down in heaven and so proud of each one of you.  Love you guys, Kim

I know our family is all struggling with the loss of Ed, Lori, and Diane. I put this picture to remind us that we are blessed to have such a large family. This past year we also gained baby Ava, Tommy and his daughter and son. 
    We have members on both Earth and Heaven. As an elder on earth , I have been gratified by the expressions of love for our members who passed on and support for the survivors on earth. I know that this family is strong and loving and there will always be there for each other till we are reunited in eternity.  I know Ed, Lori and Diane will always be with us in our hearts and keeping the family close is the best legacy we all can give them!  Love you all

Aunt Diane was so loving, kind, and thoughtful and I'll never forget her beautiful smile and laugh. She (much like the rest of the Golda family) made me feel like I was a member of the family since the first day I met her (before marrying Michael). We actually worked in the same office together briefly at TACOM before she retired. We would have at least weekly chats, sometimes more and I felt like I could talk to her about anything and everything.  She was very empathetic and compassionate and was a great listener. She helped me through some of the toughest times I experienced with my health and made me feel so much better after each conversation. I always looked forward to seeing and hugging her over the years at family events and get togethers. She was taken much too soon and we will all miss her terribly. I have no doubt she is in heaven with her loving husband Joe, her beloved sister and brother Lori and Ed and her parents. The Golda family has been through so much the past year and we (Michael, Adeline and I) are here to help and support in any way we can. 

Aunt Diane was a kind and caring woman.  During the time our mother was sick, and our mother’s death, she made sure to reach out and check in because she cared.  I will always remember her laughing, enjoying life, speaking kind and well of others and having a great sense of humor.  What a wonderful, Godly example she was.  She will be greatly missed.

I will miss grandma. She always told the best stories about her childhood and I remember every one of them. I have so many good memories with her. Grandma had a very good sense of humor and always knew how to make me laugh even when she wasn’t even trying. She also always talked about God and taught me many good things. Even my dog loved her, and my dog didn’t like many people. That’s how I know that grandma was a dog whisperer. She was the best and we will miss her very much.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I am going to try and write something about my sister Diane.   I don’t want her to be gone.  I still needed her in my life.  She’s always been my big sister who helped me through so many things.  We shared so many happy times together growing up and sharing a room together.  So many secrets and stories were shared over the years.  We are going to have to find a way as a family to get through yet another terrible loss. Make a little more time for someone you care about.  You never know when they may be taken from you.  Call people you love more often.  Sometimes I’d call Diane 4-5 times in the same day.  We always made time for each other, even if I was interrupting her Bible reading she made time for me.   
I will never forget Diane or my brother Ed and sister Lori.  We are the Golda’s.   
Diane’s legacy lives on in her sons, their wives and her 6 beautiful grandchildren.  Before she had any grandkids she said she didn’t want any because she didn’t want to have to worry about them growing up in this crazy world.  But as she started to get them, they meant the world to her and she loved all of them and her kids and daughter in laws so much.  
Rest In Peace my sister.  Not a day will go by that I won’t miss you terribly.

Your Mom had the sweetest spirit. So thoughtful and always kept in touch. We shared our love for our fur babies! She told me all the stories of Mary Jo and I told her all about Quincy & Samson. She would send me pics of Mary Jo after most of our phonecalls.
She will be greatly missed but she is with Our Lord and Savior! I will be praying for the Lord to comfort her family during this difficult time. 


Impossible to add just one memory. Mom was the best. She cared for others first and always remembered to send a card for an occasion, call on a birthday, and buy small gifts because it was nice. She taught us how to be generous, how to love all of God’s creations and notice the little things in nature.  She’ll be missed but we take solace in that she’s gone home to Heaven and with our Dad now….
