Betty J. Holz (nee Skiera), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on December 20, 2023 at the age of 88. She was the loving wife to her high school sweetheart Elmer "Larry" Holz. They loved, supported, cared for and cherished each other for over 70 years.
Betty was a devoted mother of 5 children; Cheryl Wormsbacher, Mark (Jeannette) Holz, Beverly (Patrick) Welch, Karen (Brian) Kirby and Lisa (the late Peter) Ishioka. Her legacy extends to her 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, a testament to the love and warmth she cultivated within her family.
Known for her creative spirit, Betty found joy in various hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, sewing, and ceramics, just to name a few! Her passion for ceramics blossomed into a business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit. Betty was the life of the party no matter where she went and brought joy and humor to her relationships. She loved Christmas, Betty Boop, children, babies, and recently, puppies!!
Betty and Larry shared the joy of dancing, from line dancing together, dancing at parties and weddings well into their late 80’s, and often turned their own kitchen floor into a dance floor!
Whatever she put her hand to, she did it BIG!! Betty will always be remembered for her unwavering love, creativity, joy and sparkle that she brought into the lives of those around her. May her loving memory continue to dance in the hearts and souls of all the many lives she has touched.
A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A prayer service will occur Friday evening at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road in Utica. Friends may visit the church on Saturday beginning at 9:30 am. Betty will be laid to rest following the funeral mass at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Utica, Michigan.
