Charlie “Dan” Woodruff died November 22, 2010 at the age of 69 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center surrounded by family. Dan was born on May 16, 1941 in Kosciusko, MS to Charlie and Lucy Woodruff. He spent his childhood years in Kentucky before moving to West Memphis, Arkansas where he graduated high school. On June 11, 1961 he married Margaret Ann Stough and they began their married life at Mississippi State University. Dan graduated from MSU with a B.S. in Dairy Manufacturing and began his career as Operations Manager in various plants in AL, MS, and TN.
Dan was a man of great faith and was active in the FAITH evangelism ministry until his stroke in 2001. He was a Deacon and served on the deacon board at Morrison Heights Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle and enjoyed being outside, hunting and fishing.
Dan is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Margaret; two sons, Chuck Woodruff of Argyle, TX and Scott Woodruff of Clinton, MS; six grandchildren, Grant, Rachel, Tyler, Hayden, Caroline and Abby Woodruff; one brother, Glen Woodruff of Bartlett, TN; one niece and four nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM today in the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in the Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland.
