Bill was born on February 14, 1940, in New Haven to the late Joseph McElroy Schuyler and Elsie Hodges Schuyler. After he graduated high school, he served in the Army Reserves from 1959-1966. He was a member of Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He was a welder, pipefitter and weld inspector for 32 years. Bill had a lifelong love for horses and was a member of the Lower Conn. River Valley Horsemen’s Club. He also loved sailing and sailed Long Island Sound, Block Island, Port Jefferson, Newport and many other places for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Skolonis) Schuyler; their son Matthew William Schuyler and his wife Becky (Hyatt) Schuyler of Higganum; his brother Dr. Robert L. Schuyler of Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his brother Frederick L. Schuyler, of New Haven.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 19th from 11:30am-1:30pm at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A funeral service will begin at 1:30pm at the funeral home and burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Killingworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Conn.
