Shirley Jane Coleman

Shirley Jane Coleman, of Branford, CT, died on September 17, 2014 at the Mary Wade Home in New Haven. She was born on April 10, 1925, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Neudecker) Bernard. Mrs. Coleman was the widow of William T. Coleman.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by her daughter Barbara C. Adams and son-in-law Dr. Roger Adams of Guilford, CT; granddaughter Elizabeth Adams of West Springfield, MA; sisters Virginia Bernard of Decatur, IL and Doris Lee of Mt. Vernon, IL; and ten nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister Eileen Bernard.

Burial will be September 22 in Marine, Illinois. A service to celebrate her life will be held at United Church on the Green, corner of Temple and Elm, New Haven, on September 29 at 4:00 p.m.

The family would like to thank staff of The Mary Wade Home for the kindness, support, and wonderful care give her during her time there. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made either to The Mary Wade Home, 118 Clinton, New Haven, CT 06513 or to United Church on the Green, 323 Temple, New Haven, CT 06511.
