She was born on June 3, 1981, in New Haven, the daughter of Alaine Lashenick Lane of Clinton, and the late Martin Lane.
In addition to her mother, Sarah is survived by her husband Sean Patrick Clayton; daughter Mara Riley Clayton; brother Eric Lane of Clinton; and grandmother Sylvia Lashenick of Florida.
Sarah worked as a registered Occupational Therapist in the homecare setting. She was a dedicated therapist and would work with her clients to ensure that all of their needs were met and that they achieved their therapy goals. Sarah loved to bake and would often make chocolate chip cookies. Her cupcakes, however, were her specialty; she often investigated and found complicated recipes to make and enjoyed when people took their first bite of a new recipe. Sarah was a loving mother who was adored by our daughter Mara, who also inherited her mother’s fierce spirit. Sarah found the joy and humor in every situation and brought that joy and humor to everyone she knew. She was kind, independent, compassionate, joyful, courteous, strong and the world is less for her passing.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 15th at 10am in Temple Beth Tikvah, 196 Durham Rd., Madison.
