Robin was born on March 21, 1955 in New Haven, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late Richard and Pearl Anderson Oertel.
She was raised in North Haven and graduated from North Haven HS, Class of ‘73 and later earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Rhode Island.
Robin was a microbiologist in medical research at Yale New Haven University, Bristol Myers Squibb in Wallingford and later Neurogen Technologies in Branford before her retirement.
Robin loved boating with her husband Paul on their beloved “Recess”. Together they ventured all over Long Island Sound, always enjoying the sun and salty sea.
Besides Paul, her husband of 46 years, she is survived by her daughter Elissa Morris and her husband Bryan, and twin granddaughters Vanessa and Caroline Morris, all of Clinton. She is also survived by her brother Roger Oertel and his wife Robin of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Oertel III.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 28 from 3 to 6 PM at the Swan Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial will be private.
