Robert H. M. Kelly

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce that our beloved Robert H. Kelly of Clinton and formerly of Bethany, CT passed away suddenly at home at the age of 63 on Friday, December 29, 2023. Bob was born on June 30, 1960 to Allene (Lago) Kelly and the late John Samuel Kelly. He graduated from Amity High School in 1979 and later earned an Associates Degree in Art and Architecture. He was a proprietor of Billy’s Ice Cream in Bethany, CT for over 20 years and was also a skilled building contractor and owner of East Coast Cellar Doors. Bob’s passion was collecting antique toys and he hoped to one day be named in the Guiness Book of World Records for his vast Toy Story collection. He was a lifetime member of the Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks as well as a member of the Ansonia Gun Club. He appreciated the beauty of nature and in his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, drawing, motorcycle riding, an occasional visit to the casino, dining out – while always leaving room for dessert - and visiting museums, where he would exhaust the tour guide with his inquisitive personality. He loved to drive and was never where you expected him to be. Bob will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile, keen sense of humor and ability to conceive new ideas, his warm and gentle kindness and his willingness to help others in need. Besides his mother, Bob leaves his fiancée, Linda Ramcke, his son Robert John Kelly, Christopher Allegretti (Liz), Matthew Allegretti (Audrey), Emma and Bennett Allegretti, brothers Brian Kelly (Maryann) and Shawn Kelly (Susan), sister Nancy Kelly and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many close longtime friends, including Danny, Fred, Jamie, Roger and Tom. A special thanks to emergency personnel from Clinton and surrounding towns.
