“Jack” was born February 15, 1939, in New Haven to the late Eva Andrews Cafferty and Francis J. Cafferty and previously resided in Branford, CT before settling in Clinton.
He graduated and attended the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Cafferty was employed by North Haven BOE retiring in 2001.
He was an active member of the Branford Elks Club, Ancient Mariner’s Fife and Drum Corp and many other social clubs in the community.
He married Nancy Cafferty and they made their home in Clinton, CT, 1969. Jack was a devoted husband and father who cherished time spent with family. In addition to raising their children, he maintained his career as an established art teacher. He enjoyed gardening and spent most of his time outdoors with family. Jack will be most remembered for his hard work and sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, Jack is survived (and will be dearly missed by): children Matthew and Beth Cafferty, brother Hugh S. Cafferty, grandchildren Sean, Megan and Jackson, and beloved extended family. He was pre-deceased by his brother Robert F. Cafferty.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 29th from 5-8pm at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 30th at 11am in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 54 Grove St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory may also be made to:
