Edward George Frisbie Age: 73, of Middletown, CT passed away peacefully in his home Sunday April 9, 2023 surrounded by family and close friends. Ed was born on September 20th, 1949 at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT to his late parents Edward Frisbie and Lorraine Davis of Hamden, CT. He was a graduate of Eli Whitney Technical High School.
Ed proudly served his country as a member of the US Army from January 9, 1969 to November 19, 1971. Prior to his honorable discharge, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Veitnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Ed was employeed as a Crane Operator and Master Mechanical Engineer by the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478, where he received the nickname "MacGyver" for his ability to fix anything. Ed would never miss the opportunity to speak about the bridges and other significant jobs he had the pleasure of working on with his union brothers.
Ed was a lifelong resident of Connecticut, where he enjoyed spending his time "IN THE WIND" on his Victory motorcycle and hanging out with his friends at "the club house" and the Red Dog. Ed will always be remembered for his commitment to the things that he loved, and his generosity and kindness he gave to all.
Ed is survived and will be dearly missed by his son, Michael Frisbie of Wakefield, MA, his daughter Jessica Norman, her husband Brian Norman, his two grandsons Jacob and Logan Norman of Clinton, CT, along with his nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his favorite meal-time, four-legged friends, Cash and Callie, who would often be found by his recliner awaiting leftovers.
An evening of remembrance will be held at Swan Funeral Home at 80 East Main Street, Clinton, CT on Thursday, April 13 from 5pm to 8pm. Ed will be laid to rest on Friday, April 14 at the Connecticut Veterans Cemetery located at 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT at promptly 1pm.
