Anne E. (Pagliaro) Healey, 63, of Clinton, beloved wife of Patrick H. Healey, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on May 11, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Amelia (Guida) Pagliaro.
Anne grew up in West Haven, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Bridgeport and a Master of Science in Nursing at Loyola College New Orleans. She proudly served as a Nurse Manager at Yale New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus and mentored countless nurses throughout her successful 40 year career. Her strive for excellence, compassion for patients and love of nursing was widely respected by the medical community.
Anne loved to laugh and had a smile that would light up a room. She is described by family and friends as “a woman of strength, determination, and having a positive attitude that was inspiring to all those who knew her.” Amongst her worldly travels Anne never missed a UConn game nor an opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, which usually involved her cooking a delicious meal. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend with a remarkable spirit and beautiful heart. Although Anne departed this world many years too soon, we know that she will be remembered fondly and with great love by “an army” of family and friends, forever.
Besides her husband Patrick of 40 years, she is survived by three children; Daniel P. Healey (Melanie) of Clinton, Kathryn E. Iverson (Christopher) of Clinton, and Elizabeth A. West (Dwight) of Groton; three grandchildren and a fourth on the way. She is also survived by two brothers, Peter Pagliaro of Milford, and William Pagliaro of Clinton. She is predeceased by her sister Nancy Dresel. The family is grateful for the loving support and quality care provided by the Yale New Haven staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, January 10th, from 4-8 pm at the Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 11th, at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Church of Visitation at 54 Grove St, Clinton. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton.
